What Is Nipple Reduction

Nipple reduction is a quick, straightforward surgery to make the nipples smaller, shorter, or narrower so they fit the look of your chest better. It’s a common choice for both men and women who feel their nipples are too prominent or “poke through” clothing.

How It Works

  • The Visit: It’s usually an “in and out” procedure. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes, and you go home the same day.
  • Comfort: Most people only need local numbing (like at the dentist). You’ll be awake but won’t feel pain in the area.
  • The Fix: The surgeon removes a tiny bit of extra tissue from the tip or the base of the nipple and uses very fine stitches to close it up.

What Recovery Looks Like

  • Back to Life: You can usually head back to a desk job in 1 or 2 days.
  • Healing: You’ll have some minor swelling or bruising for about a week. The scars are hidden in the natural creases of the skin, so they usually become invisible over time.
  • Pain Level: Most patients describe it as “mildly tender” rather than painful. Over-the-counter Tylenol is usually enough.
  • Sensation: Your nipples might feel a bit numb at first, but for most people, the feeling comes back fully as it heals.
  • Breastfeeding: If you plan on breastfeeding in the future, tell your surgeon. They can often use a technique that keeps the milk ducts intact.
  • Clothing: You’ll want to wear a soft, supportive bra or a snug undershirt for a week or two to keep everything protected while it heal.

What Is Areola Reduction

Areola reduction is a transformative procedure designed to bring the breasts into better proportion and boost your self-confidence.

The areola is the darker, pigmented skin surrounding the nipple. For many, this area can become enlarged or stretched due to genetics, hormonal changes during puberty, pregnancy, or weight fluctuations.
An areola reduction is a cosmetic surgery that decreases the diameter of this skin to create a more balanced, circular, and youthful appearance. It is often requested by patients who feel their areolas are “too large” for their breast size or are asymmetrical.

I treat every procedure as a bespoke design tailored to your unique anatomy.

  •  I shrink the diameter without affecting the nipple’s sensitivity or function. My priority is “invisible” results. By placing the fine, dissolvable stitches exactly where the dark areola meets the lighter breast skin, the final scar naturally blends into your skin’s transition line.
  • For your convenience, I often perform this as a minor procedure under local anesthesia. This means you are awake but comfortable, and you can walk out of the clinic and return to your routine almost immediately.
  •  I don’t use a “standard” size. I meticulously measure and mark your new areola to ensure it fits perfectly with the size of your breasts and your overall frame, aiming for a result that is clean, natural, and elevated.
  •  Most of my patients return to work within 24 to 48 hours.
  •  Any post-op tightness is easily managed with mild pain relief.
  • I provide a personalized healing plan to ensure your results remain permanent and your skin heals flawlessly.
